August Happenings

August has been a crazy, crazy month and it's only half over! I haven't gotten much scrapping done or taken many pictures but that's ok. Sometimes it's just about enjoying the moments instead of trying to record them. =) My friend, Lelia, and I took our kiddos to Alabama Adventures a couple times during this lovely 100+ degree heat wave we're having. It's the perfect place to spend the day - cool water and lots of distractions for the kids!! I love this shot I got of my little man playing in the Salamander Bay area.

The little dude has also taken it upon himself to get dressed all by himself a couple times. It's pretty amusing! He actually doesn't do too bad. =)

Our first day of school was this past week and it wasn't nearly as emotional as last year. Dylan walked right into his classroom and started playing with toys while I shed NO tears! Go me!!! After his first day, I took him out to one of his favorite lunch spots. If you live in the northern Jefferson County area, I highly recommend Pasquale's lunch buffet. The garlic bread alone is worth the drive! YUM!!!

I do have a couple bits of good scrappy news. I have a layout featured in the August/September issue of Ready, Set, Create magazine. If you've never heard of this, it's a downloadable magazine with TONS of cute ideas in it! Go check it out!! Also, my friend, Maelynn Cheung has a book out - "Doodling for Papercrafters." One of my layouts, "Stay Little" is in her book. Way to go, Maelynn!!!

Congratulations on the publication! We had such a great time at AL Adventure. Maybe, just maybe, we could slip in a weekend trip before the season ends.

I'm loving Dylan's expression in that last picture. I don't know if I've ever seen him make that face before.
