Back Button Focusing, RAW, and Depth of Field

So I bribed my kid this morning so I could get some pictures of him. =) I wanted to play around with my camera and I could definitely tell a difference using the back-button focusing. And shooting in RAW allowed me to go back and lighten up pictures that would've been really dark. Yikes! My hard drive is in trouble now. =)

Our challenge this week is to use depth of field in your pictures. I love getting a shallow depth of field especially in portraits so I knew this wouldn't be a problem for me! Thanks for looking!!

Picture #1: ISO: 100, SS: 1/50, F-stop: 2.5, 50mm lens
Picture #2: ISO: 100, SS: 1/50, F-stop: 2.5, 50mm lens
Picture #3: ISO: 100, SS: 1/60, F-stop: 4.0, 50mm lens

It must feel so great to really be able to apply the new things you're learning. And then to have evidence of the difference right in front of you and confirmed by all who see. Congrats and great work!
